There was a lot of freedom to work on projects that interested me. While I was still contributing to the overall mission of the Historical Society and the work that the Oral History office needed done, I could budget my time in ways that I found most engaging.

Great experience to grow my professional network, and the work was interesting and varied.
What I wish was different
Personally, I would have liked a bit more focus on book design than marketing, but it's still useful to learn all parts of the publishing process!
Advice
Get to know your boss as soon as you can. That way, if you have questions, you don't feel so much like you're just pestering them.
