What I liked
I liked the opportunity to get full time experience. In the Guard it's very part time (one weekend a month and a few weeks in the summer) so to get experience doing it full time was amazing.
What I wish was different
I do wish I had lived closer to my job. I drove an hour every day to work. But I learned that I want to live closer to my full time job post grad.
Advice
If you're looking for something different and a way to feel like you're doing more, join the MN Army National Guard. If you're in the Guard and you get the opportunity to take on a technician position full time or temporarily, it's a great way to learn what the Guard does between weekends of service.
