I liked that I got to be a lead teacher and work with kids. I got to see them grow, learn, and enjoy themselves. I loved watching friendships grow and how the children developed throughout the summer.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have had a break. I was there 6 hours and did not get an uninterrupted lunch break. We had to make sure the kids were all set and their needs were met. We had to eat in between that. I wish it would have been more relaxed. Everyday felt rushed and scattered.
Advice
Understand that there are people in the world who will treat you differently simply because of their status. You need to stay headstrong and know that status doesn't define value.
