What I wish was different
I wish there was more openness to try new things (in terms of content creation for the Firm). A lot of things were regulated, and plans would have to change if someone didn't like an idea.
Advice
Be open to network with people from other departments to get a sense of the Firm as a whole entity.

What I liked
I really enjoyed working at Millennium Management this summer. I loved that I was exposed to a lot of different investment products and trade ideas. I saw something different each day and really enjoyed that part of the job In addition, the environment was fast paced which kept me motivated throughout the day. Also, we had weekly speaker series from upper-level management and C-suite executives where they told us their story and we were able to ask them questions. Overall, I loved coming to work everyday at Millennium and cannot wait to return their after graduation.
What I wish was different
I do not have any complaints at all about my summer and experience at Millennium Management. I worked with a great team and really enjoyed my role. In addition, my team trusted me to do the work that they did, therefore I was given a good amount of responsibility and felt as if I was really contributing to the firm.
Advice
One piece of advice would be to brush up on your knowledge of how hedge funds work and the different investment products. It is always great to have this knowledge going into a role like this.

What I liked
The team was extremely friendly and had extensive backgrounds in consulting and strategy. I learned a ton from them as they were extremely committed to my learning and development throughout the process. The rest of the intern class was extremely friendly as well and I really enjoyed my time.
What I wish was different
I wish I had one large project over the course of the summer in addition to my usual projects.
Advice
If you're interested in financial services and consulting this is a good blend.
