The work was fulfilling, and gave me good practical experience for my future career as an educator. Also, there's an amazing spiritual community there.
What I wish was different
Organization and management were very disconnected between the two major departments, which added a lot of stress on everyone.
Advice
Be prepared to go above and beyond, but you'll be doing it for people and a place you love.

What I liked
I got to see the impact I was having on the kids' lives and felt like the work I was doing was really fulfilling. I knew I was doing something with a purpose as I got to pour into the lives of others.
What I wish was different
Not a thing
Advice
Go into things bold and unafraid. You have to allow others to shape you with their thoughts and experiences just as much as you shape them.

Camp Counselor
June - August 2018 • Hillsdale, MI
What I liked
I enjoyed learning how to interact and lead an age group that I had never be involved with before.
What I wish was different
I did not always feel 100% welcomed by my co-workers, as well as, struggled with handling younger children.
Advice
Camp counseling is hard. You don't get paid very much and you work long weeks, but it's the most rewarding thing when a child who is in your cabin accepts Jesus as their Savior.
