I enjoy refining my teaching skills, working with other teachers in a public school system, and I like the flexibility of my hours. My supervisor wants me to do administrative work before program, so I arrive 2 hours earlier than after school classes start (3pm). This helps me maximize the number of hours I work part-time.

Use your personal network to get a job! I had just come home from being in Colombia for my Fulbright experience, and I’m really glad I talked to my personal connections to ensure I had a job when I returned to the United States. I was applying abroad and had interviews when I got back home to Chicago. My advice, again, is to use that network— they can forward you applications and recommend you!
