What I liked

I was able to see various departments within the company as well as working hands on with a project that was immediately integrated into the day to day work of the group I was a part of. I even got to meet with and present in front of senior level leaders within various departments as well.

What I wish was different

I wish I would have had more knowledge on Excel when I first started.

Advice

To take advantage of everything offered to you while you are an intern, you have access to things during this time that most employees do not. Also, go out on a limb and apply to that company that you do not think you have a chance with, you may surprise yourself.

Intern lunch and learns that catered to other majors (not just pricing/acturarial)

Meet people. Be genuine about it. Learn from others. Ask questions and people will remember you and you will also be a fast learner.

Apply to things out of your comfort zone! Compliance is not generally where I saw myself but I really enjoyed my experience and learned a lot from it.
