What I liked
I loved having the autonomy to apply the full spectrum of what I learned in nursing school. I also loved my coworkers and the churches in the area that supported my work.
What I wish was different
The management became hard to please and I felt like I was justifying my job a lot, in spite of going above and beyond. There was no career mobility.
Advice
This is a job that requires a lot of hours and intentionality. With good family support, it makes getting the work done easier because it takes an emotional toll being isolated and serving the vulnerable populations that MHM focuses on. You have to be self motivated and in may ways a healed, whole person walking into Wesley Nursing because of these demands.
