Direct care

May 2019 • Slippery Rock, PA

What I liked

This job is the most rewarding and challenging job I’ve had to take on. This job gave me an experience that will be relevant to what I want to do in my future and a wonderful experience. I love having a position where I can take charge and show my talents while getting praise by coworkers.

What I wish was different

The only thing I would have changed is doing more research on the job I was applying for.

Advice

I would recommend to do research if thinking about going into direct care. I say this because it is a challenging job that may not be for everyone. I personally was overwhelmed during training because I was aware of the daily tasks I would need to perform. I however enjoyed the job more than I would of ever thought after getting through the initial orientation.

Communications Intern

June 2015 - August 2019 • Lafayette Hill, PA

What I liked

I enjoyed working in the environment. I was always learning and got to experience multiple parts of a company.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more time working as a Communications Intern. For half of the week I worked with the Fiscal Team and the other half I worked in Marketing

Advice

Ask many questions. Even to those, you may not work directly with. I think it is really important to absorb as much information as you can while at an internship and learning from multiple branches in the company helps make you well-rounded.
