Memphis Zoo

About Memphis Zoo

Today, the Memphis Zoo is one of Memphis’ highest attended attractions. The Zoo’s conservation programs circle the globe – from cooperative programs in China for giant pandas to local efforts to save the Louisiana pine snake. More than 90,000 children visit the Zoo on annual field trips and more than 100,000 people visit on free admission every year.

Memphis Zoo's mission is: Create Adventures. Save Wildlife. Aware that the zoo of tomorrow begins today, our staff and volunteers are dedicated to providing a naturalistic and enriching sanctuary for our animals, and a clean, friendly, entertaining and educational experience for our guests. Together, we are building one of the world’s great zoos.

Zookeeper Intern

May 2021 - August 2021 Memphis, TN
“Wonderful animals”

Biology Research Intern

June 2019 - August 2019 Memphis, TN
“I loved having the opportunity to do graduate level research at this time. Being able to participate in animal behavior research that will be used by the Memphis Zoo to curtail their treatment of the animals is really amazing. This internship had immense flexibility by letting me choose my own times and hours that I would be working. Additionally, there were 3 other interns so being able to collaborate and share our experiences was great. ”
