I loved the staff and working with the children in pediatric hematology and oncology.
What I wish was different
A more structured list of things to do.
Advice
If you enjoy children and working in the hospital this is a great opportunity. Be willing to do whatever is needed in the unit, like cleaning toys, playing with children, and lots of organizing.

Writing Intern
May 2019 • Chattanooga, TN
What I liked
Writing for Memorial has help me get a lot of experience writing in a professional context. I have written several articles, interviewed a lot of individuals, and received helpful constructive criticism from my editor that enables me to improve my writing.
What I wish was different
Unfortunately, the internship is unpaid and that is one thing I wish could have been different.
Advice
Always be willing to receive critique, feedback, and advice from your supervisor/editor -- you are there to grow and that means there will always be things that you can get better at.
