What I liked

I enjoyed the first hand interactions with my fellow co-workers and supervisors. When working in a small medical urgent care center, you make connections everyday in the workplace with Physicians, nurses, billing specialists, and other office and medical specialists. It was also very comforting and validating to know that I was working so closely to so many diligent and intelligent people. It was truly one of my most memorable experiences and I hope to return to the healthcare/ medical practice environment soon.

What I wish was different

I would not change anything about my experience.

Advice

If you are actively pursuing or want to pursue a career in healthcare or medicine, I would recommend looking into shadowing positions with medical specialist. The personal and professional connections you establish with your fellow co-workers and supervisors are truly meaningful. It allows you to expand and gain knowledge by asking questions about day-to-day procedures, policies, and diagnostic methods.
