Camp Counselor

May - August 2019 • Fremont, MI

What I liked

I loved being able to work with children and give them opportunities to learn and grow at camp.

What I wish was different

I wish there had been a little more down time and a little less pressure to be on 100% of the time.

Advice

Make sure that, if you're working in the woods for three months, you have at least a couple friends working with you to hang around (or commiserate) with.

Enrichment Leader and Teacher Assistant

June - August 2019 • Evanston, IL

What I liked

The relationship I built with the children was amazing. I really spent my whole summer with them. I was able to watch them grow socially, emotionally, and academically during their summer learning program. When the program, I found myself missing them so much.

What I wish was different

I had so many great coworkers, however, I wished there were more people who worked there due to their passion for children. I love coworkers who know how to take initiative, communicate well, and try their best to make the summer program the best for the children.

Advice

If you want to work here, please remember you are working with children! You might have days where you tired getting up to work, but the kids need your 100%! Besides that, they will love and adore you and make your summer amazing, in return.

Camp Counselor

May - August 2019 • Fremont, MI

What I liked

I’ve gone to this camp as a camper and worked there for the past four summers! I drive ski boats which is so much fun and I also loved looking after kids and just making sure they had the most fun possible!

What I wish was different

I wish there was more chances to see my family and friends back home. As well as having more staff working at the camp.

Advice

Always keep an open mind and accept others for who they are and where they come from. Everyone has a different story and we all need to respect their individual differences.
