What I liked

They were committed to giving interns real work and hands-on experiences, and had a very good system of getting familiar with the department employees and catching up to speed with the company business.

What I wish was different

I was working on one project for the whole summer. While it was nice to have a large responsibility to myself, it could be slow at times while waiting for things to be approved or processed.

Advice

Have some familiarity with steel manufacturing and materials science, it helped a lot with understanding what raw materials went into their products.

What I liked

Everyone that works there is very nice and easy to work with. Also, they really go out of their way to help the interns and they strive to give the interns as much as they are getting in terms of experience and effort. Also, the work that the interns do greatly contribute to the company so it really feels like you are one with the team.

What I wish was different

I wish the pay had been greater, but the experience and knowledge I gained was worth the lesser pay for the few months that I was there.

Advice

Everyone at the company was knowledgeable, and if you take an interest in anyone's work they will be more than willing to have a conversation with you and teach you a few things. Definitely get to know the people you are working with.
