I had the opportunity to sit with partners and discuss projects over the course of the summer. I worked with multiple proprietary softwares and had hands-on experience with many members of the team over the course of the internship.
What I wish was different
I was placed in a team with a very specific role in the larger company, that I did not specifically view as an aspect of law I would eventually go into. The position made me explore others fields and skills of legal work than I first anticipated which was a difficult undertaking but an overall valuable experience.
Advice
Not all internships will advertise through Google or Handshake, find the companies that you think align with your interests and reach out (cold email). Sometimes it will work in your favor!
