What I liked

I had the opportunity to interact with kids on a daily basis and watch them grow on multiple levels. I truly enjoyed helping them become more confident on an academic and personal level. By tutoring them and talking with their parents, I realized that I would love to go into pediatric care in my career. In all, this was an especially rewarding and fun job.

What I wish was different

Towards the end of my tenure, I began to work more with younger kids (preschool, kindergarten level). In doing so, I found that I worked especially well with these kids and fed off of their radiant energy. So, I wish I worked with these younger kids more frequently.

Advice

I would advise others that they should enjoy their interactions with the kids and treat it as more than just a tutoring job. In doing so, they will have a more rewarding, fun experience and may gain insight into their future career.

Very friendly staff, plenty of training on teaching kids (though the training did take a while, but was paid)

What I wish was different

Advice

You will take a fairly basic test to prove you have enough knowledge to teach students. No calculator, only up through high school algebra, no time limit, but the amount of time you take is considered
