What I liked

Good coworkers, supervisors, students, and curriculum!

What I wish was different

Advice

Soak up as much training and professional development as you can, and never ever be afraid to ask for help or admit you need backup: your supervisors will hopefully value your commitment to providing high quality instruction. Also I still make mistakes a few times a day, even now, it’s okay! Everyone does, and it doesn’t mean you’re bad at your job!

Lead Instructor

July 2019 - August 2020 • San Diego, CA

What I liked

My employer, Tommy Najarian, was a very effective communicator and made me feel like a valuable asset to the team. He also taught me ways to improve my skills and change my way of thinking.

What I wish was different

I wish there had been a receptionist-like position to take on some of the menial responsibilities that prevented the lead instructors from working more efficiently.

Advice

Come in with an open-mind and be willing to learn new ways of teaching, even if you already have experience tutoring / teaching others. This center will most likely change the way you think about and explain mathematics.
