I liked that I worked with the same 2 people for the entire time I was there, it helped me become comfortable with the job faster and we became close in the time I was there. I also enjoyed the job in general, I worked at Our Lady of Good Counsel Pre-K-8th school and while school was still in session it was nice to get gratitude from the teachers and other staff for my work, and having small conversations and connections with them. My job felt meaningful.
What I wish was different
The management of Master Maintenance was awful. While this didn't affect me too much since I was only there for the summer, my co-workers and even my immediate boss always had stories to tell or reasons to complain over the higher-ups, who did not show much care for their employees and really did not give much of a reason to stay (no bonuses were given to places that showed high cleaning marks/received no complaints, the base pay was lower than most other companies, they would put employees into jobs that they probably shouldn't have done). At the school itself, there isn't anything I would've really changed, it was a relaxing job overall.
Advice
Bring earbuds. Cleaning becomes a very therapeutic experience if you're able to listen to your own music and work at your own pace, the time flies by.
