Opportunity to participate in different projects from different departments. MassDOT gives you choice to choose field which you like. Great learning experience from professionals.

Summer Intern

What I liked

I enjoyed the entire experience, and this internship helped me focus on what I want to do when I graduate. The internship provided exposure to a field experience to help enhance my career going forward, and it showed me hands-on experience with quality control on the job site.

Advice

Take in and be open to all opportunities. You make out as much as you put into the experience.

Highway Engineering Intern

What I liked

It was a good opportunity to network and learn about the various aspects of roadways. There were several times where I was able to travel to the headquarters in Boston which was great experience. I was also able to work on an independent project throughout the whole summer.

What I wish was different

The work environment was a bit dry. Although I enjoyed who I worked with, I wasn't really interested in what I was doing and the dynamic of the office wasn't as team orientated as I would have liked.
