What I liked
I loved it! Everyday I would go to hearings and learn about different topics about the public health. Also I would joining Representative Paul Tuckers at his meeting relating public health, education etc, in which I was able to meet influencing people who I also learned a lot from
What I wish was different
Nothing. My supervisors were the best, the representative was the best mentor I ever had. In my opinion I wouldn't change anything. I had a good experience in my internship!
Advice
A piece of advice I will share about this experience is to always dress to impress and professional, be on time and even though is not a pay internship always have a positive attitude!

What I liked
I liked the atmosphere of learning that it fostered, and the many opportunities to listen and discuss political issues with state representatives, who often hosted lectures.
What I wish was different
I wish there had been more interesting projects to do, with a bigger emphasis on research. I often found myself not doing anything for extended periods of time.
Advice
I would say that you get out of it what you put into it. If you come to a job like this, if you are willing to try and learn then you will have lots of opportunities to do so.

What I liked
I enjoyed learning about the legislative process and spending time with Representative Matias' legislative aid, Manny Cruz. I also enjoyed the speaker series, where Reps, Senators and a number of different executives spoke to the interns about their arrival in a public service career.
What I wish was different
I wish I had been able to do more research and less administrative tasks.
Advice
I would tell future interns to attend each session if the speaker series is something that continues, and to get to know the Representative and any Aides, because they can be incredibly helpful in providing connections and knowledge.

What I liked
It really helped me distill distinct skills I would need to work in government and politics, and also helped me decide a little more about what I would like to do in the future.
What I wish was different
Sometimes it was a little dry, especially considering I was doing a lot of the same tasks such as constituent outreach and meeting notes
Advice
Keep an open mind, and try to learn something from every experience
