What I liked

This internship was hands on. The MCAD takes the experience of every employee very seriously and puts a lot of time and effort into the professional development of each intern.

Investigations Intern

June - August 2018 • Boston, MA

What I liked

I was originally hired as an administrative intern but after starting was moved to the Investigations team. The internship has one-on-one supervisor interaction, and they provide good feedback and constructive criticism. The internship has a lot of independent work and I was able to listen to music and podcasts. Completing tasks quickly and before deadlines will be received well and you will get the opportunity to learn more and take on more responsibility.

What I wish was different

I wish the internship was more integrated in terms of the different teams. (Housing, Investigations, Administration, etc.)

Advice

This is a state run agency so a lot of work is required and deadlines are important. Keep this in mind when deciding because transportation costs, etc. will start to pile up and working 3 days a week limits the amount of time you can work at another job.
