Mascaro Construction

Project Engineer Intern

May - August 2022 • Pittsburgh, PA

What I liked

My internship with Mascaro Construction was my first time working in the industry. Mascaro delivered a great experience and I learned invaluable information that I never would have learned in school. I worked with the project team at the Pittsburgh International Airport Terminal Project and they involved me in work that mattered. I was in and out of the field and field office helping in any ways I could. Everyone was super helpful and was interested in helping me learn more. Overall, my experience with Mascaro was amazing and I would highly recommend the Mascaro Internship Experience.

What I wish was different

Honestly, it was a perfect experience that exposed me to many aspects of construction that I will be able to use in my future.

Advice

Do not be afraid to ask questions. It is better to ask a question than assume something and mess it up. Everyone will appreciate you asking questions and getting things right the first time.

Union Laborer

June - August 2018 • Pittsburgh, PA

What I liked

Quality pay for hard, honest work.

What I wish was different

Given my wages, I cannot say I wish anything was different; however, waking up at 4:30 AM for a 6 AM job was a bit grueling at times.

Advice

Construction jobs should not be looked down on by members of academia. Such jobs pay well, provide tremendous service to society, and offer an insight into real-world applications of the things students learn about in engineering classes.
