What I liked

I like the ability to work closely with student transitions, helping new students and parents get comfortable and supported in their new adjustments. I like working with other orientation leaders and sharing skills in engagement and leadership. Being able to make a difference in their orientation and beginning college journeys. I also like being able to see the students that I toured on campus and onto orientation.

What I wish was different

More time preparation for orientation leaders, different dates for orientation and more training and bonding among the orientation leaders.

Advice

Be open minded and able to adjust quickly to rapid changing environments, also to be patient and wait for directions. Also be initiative in terms of working on tasks and leading groups.

Advice

Be a good communicator with the people in charge, they are always willing to help you get better at your job, especially because they are so busy themselves, they want you to be good at what you do in order to take some stress off their shoulders.
