I liked learning the ins and outs of how a warehouse operates. Mars did an amazing job of providing me with a hands on experience that you cannot always get in a classroom. I also enjoyed collaborating with other interns while working on our summer project

What I liked
The Warehousing and Logistics Internship provided many learning opportunities for Supply Chain Management. I enjoyed working in our Central Distribution Center as well having my own projects to work on throughout my internship. I really liked how flexible Mars is with your hours during internships. They gave myself and other interns the opportunity to work a few days during the week after school which was great!
What I wish was different
Wish I would have come across Mars sooner. Great company and expanding fast!
Advice
Working for a smaller and/or independent company such as Mars will benefit you in so many more ways than a larger company with thousands of employees.

What I liked
Mars gives you the space to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. The internship gives interns plenty of autonomy and encourages them to seek out projects they are interested in in addition to structured project work. I learned more about warehousing operations than I ever thought I would in a summer internship.
I cannot recommend this program enough if you have a self-starter personality and like to meet challenges head on.
What I wish was different
I wish we could have spent more time in the different rotations (Logistics, Branch Support, etc.) to become more fully immersed in the day to day operations of those business functions.
Advice
Ask questions! Everyone is extremely friendly and knowledgeable and wants to help you succeed. Do not be afraid to suggest something; even if it has already been tried, they are more than willing to listen and encourage you to pursue a solution.
