The ability to learn so much about the hotel industry and work in a very unique work environment. I also enjoyed working with people hands on.
What I wish was different
The commute and hours of the job became a bit difficult by the end of the summer.
Advice
Soak in everything, all of the difficult customers, people you work with, everything. There was so much to learn there, about not only the hoteling industry, but about working with people.

I liked getting to see first hand how a successful resort runs and what it takes to keep it in such good standing across the world. I got to be hands on and get a good feel for the field that I am trying to pursue. It made me excited for the future in this career path I am on!

What I liked
I liked how I met hundreds of different people everyday, and I worked with amazing people who made my experience fun and memorable. We also hosted over 20 activities a day, so it was fun having a different day everyday!
What I wish was different
I wish my managers communicated better with our intern project, and our intern experience because we had a binder of info of things we were supposed to complete but they never communicated or checked in with us about it.
Advice
Go somewhere you don't think you would ever go! I never imagined going to the desert of California, but it was the best summer I have ever had!

What I liked
I loved my managers and their trust that they had in me as an associate. They gave me opportunities to start my own activities in the recreation center. As well they gave me the opportunity to make two videos for the resort. Everyone was so friendly and supportive of me.
What I wish was different
I wish I could've cross trained in a few more areas throughout the resot.
Advice
Going out of your comfort zone and giving it your all is going to get you far in a workplace. Don't be afraid to be who you are. We all have different talents which can be very beneficial to a workplace. Always take opportunities when they are given to you and do your best when you receive them.
