Marriott International Supervisor

January 2017 • Irvine, CA

What I liked

All freshman are able to go to the career fair. Take advantage of that. I met with recruiters my first year even though they were only hiring juniors and seniors. Once I became a junior I scored my dream job in Hawaii with Four Seasons!

What I wish was different

Mock networking with classmates might be a good ice breaker to allow students to gain more confidence for the career fair itself.

Advice

Go to the career fair! It might be scary at first but step outside your comfort zone and start networking.

Hotel Front Desk Clerk

May 2017 • Salt Lake City, UT

What I liked

I get to experience a different side to customer service and the hours work with my schedule! My co-workers are lots of fun too.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have gotten more hours so I could pay for more things!

Advice

I would say that overall my summer was pretty busy because of work, but it also kept me in a productive mindset. I would encourage people to try getting jobs rather than depending on others to fund your needs (that is if you have a choice).

Front Desk Represenative

June 2018 • Provo, UT

What I liked

I LOVE the benefits that Marriott employees receive. I travel quite a lot and to be able to access high quality hotels for extremely discounted rates is a great help to me.

What I wish was different

I wish the hours would be more consistent. Our schedule changes every week and the shifts can be inconvenient.

Advice

Get through the online trainings as quickly as possible because you don't really start to learn until you get up to the desk.
