It was a great experience working there. I gained a lot of communication skills from it. I’d recommend getting CPR certified by someone else before hand.

What I liked
I really like the camaraderie between all of the employees. I've worked here for five summers now, and the people you meet and work with were always the number one reason I went back.
What I wish was different
I understand that the park is trying to save money when possible, but the staggered clock-in times for lifeguards could sometimes make it stressful on the supervisors to get everybody placed -- we wouldn't know if we had enough guards for each spot until way after the park opened. In years past, everyone would show up at the same time, but not necessarily be put on a guard stand at that time. But I know that isn't cost effective, so I can respect their new policies.
The hours are long, and the climate is a roller coaster. Prepare for dry heat but also freezing rain. Make friends and try to have fun. It's a fantastic summer job, 10/10, would do again.
