“I enjoyed getting valuable experience in corporate America. I learned a lot about professionalism, hard work, and seniors housing transactions. I worked with a group of brokers who specialized in the niche market of seniors housing investments. My most valuable experience was, without a doubt, cold calling developers on the dodge report, telling them about our firm, team, and services, and trying to connect them with a broker who could help them field the highest offer on their new building. I called all over the country (my team does deals all over the country). I heard "no", or "not interested", sometimes even "don't call me again", a lot more than I heard positive things. This sharpened my sales skills, and by the end of the summer a handful of people I had cold called signed NDAs with our team. One broker I worked for is currently selling a property worth $20 million, the owner is someone I cold called. ”
