Sales Intern

June 2018 - December 2019 • Troy, MI

What I liked

Gaining experience in the automotive industry, and how account management and program management intertwine within a company. Gained a lot of experience in the sales sector, that will allow me to become a program manager in the future.

What I wish was different

I wish that I would have been able to stay on with the company, however, with times being a little tough they were not able to keep me on.

Advice

I would really say that it was a valuable experience and I would recommend a sales intern position to anyone. It is not as much sales as you would think, it is more intertwined with the structure of the business and planning behind it.

Product Engineering Intern

May - August 2018 • Buffalo, NY

What I liked

The people were extremely friendly and caring. Everyone there wanted you to succeed and do well rather than brush you off. The program is very well organized and gives interns opportunities to view all aspects of the company.

What I wish was different

I wish I had more time there. At a company as large as MAHLE, it’s hard to get projects, especially engineering related ones, done in a timely manner. We were frequently waiting on parts to to come in, emails to come back, tests stands to be free, etc.

Advice

When you start a new job, especially one which may weigh heavily on your future, you need to learn how to take initiative and ask questions. When I was faced with something I didn’t understand, I would ask questions first, attempt the job myself, and ask questions a second time on the things I didn’t understand.
