What I liked

I love the fact that I was able to make my own schedule. I like meeting new people and being able to be that person to listen to them. Sometimes you just need to talk to someone you don't know that won't cast judgement nor, tell your secrets.

What I wish was different

I wish that they had a better platform. Sometimes the GPS was off and I would have big mix ups. Also I wish that they would have a system to pay tolls on the express way in real time. Also, I hate that they changed the bonus system. In the beginning it was really lucrative.

Advice

Be open to talk to people. You never know who you are driving and what they are going through. It's a good avenue to make extra money!

What I liked

There was a sense of adventure that I enjoy when working for Lyft. Although I am a Los Angeles native, I did learn about new places to visit while driving. You got to learn about the locals in certain areas that I drove around. You also have provide a great service to tourists who do not know much about Los Angeles.

What I wish was different

Apart from the Los Angeles traffic, I wish the downtime between passengers wouldn't be so long. This mostly has to do with the areas you work as some have a higher demand for drivers. While other areas may not require this service as often. You also have to take into consideration what time you do this job. A lot of the high pay can come during the late hours. The pay can go from $5.00 dollars to $15.00 just because of the time. Another thing I wish was different was the pay for shared rides as it is lower than individual rides. Although this is suppose to be a service at an inexpensive rate. It does create a bit of discouragement to provide this kind of service.

Advice

Most importantly always try to have a positive attitude when driving others. LA traffic will not change and it may annoy you to drive in it. However, the same pressure you feel a passenger will feel as well. This pressure could lead to a negative rating of your service. Another advice I would provide is to try to be as friendly as you can. Passengers enjoy a good conversation while driving to their destination. It also helps to have an interactive conversation if your drive is long.

What I liked

Flexibility is great. I drive during downtimes because I don't like traffic, even though they say you make more during rush hour, I don't think sitting behind a bunch of traffic is worth it for me personally.

What I wish was different

I wish there were less traffic on the streets?? Otherwise the app is great!

Advice

Do airport pick ups. You'll be waiting but you're more likely to get longer trips, you don't want short trips. You get short trips, then you're waiting for another trip and not making money. You sit at the TNP lot but at least you know an estimate of how long you're waiting.

What I liked

I liked how the people I would pick up where nice. Meeting new people and hearing their stories was always fun to me. The lyft personal where helpful and they look over your information in a quick and timely manner.

What I wish was different

I wish they would pay you for the drive to pick up the person rather than just when you pick up the person that needs a ride and drop them off. Most of the time you just sit around waiting for someone to ask for a ride.
