Camp Counselor

What I liked

As an education major, this job was basically a paid internship. You get experience working with children in a supportive, community building environment.

What I wish was different

Nothing.

Advice

This job is physically and mentally taxing at times (like any job). But ultimately, it will help you become more confident in your ability to work with and lead children. So if you're willing to put in the work, this job will benefit you in the long run.

What I liked

Working at Luther Crest was one of the most rewarding experiences that I have had. The opportunity to work and form relationships with the kids that attended camp was one like none other. The staff was also amazing! They became a second family! I 100% recommend spending a summer at Luther Crest!

Go! If you are not sure if you want to work at a summer camp or not, just do it! It will be a summer that you will never forget!

What I liked

In this position, I had specific responsibilities related to my area in Environmental Education programming and taking care of animals, but I also was on the larger Support Staff of the camp. Camp has a strong community where people work together to accomplish tasks and step up to the challenge of new experiences.
