What I liked

The open-ended nature of the itnernship: my research mentors let me design and perform my own experiments, order my own chemicals, etc.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had more collaboration: a lot of the work I was doing was by myself. I wish there was a team of researchers I could work with instead.

Advice

I would say they should take advantage of the many different employees at Lubrizol, and talk to those that have jobs that interest you.

Intern - Commercial (Chemtool, Inc.)

What I liked

Hours were generally flexible (around a 40 hour, 8-5, hour lunch, plan - e.g. coming in early most days, leaving early on Friday, etc.) and the people were great and very easy to work with. Clear on expectations, helpful when needed too. Lots of interesting work, good exposure to different facets of the company.

What I wish was different

Took a week or so to get the first meaningful assignment, one project out of 5 was a little tedious.

Advice

Just work hard and talk to as many people as you can!
