What I liked

During my summer internship, which then got extended into a part-time job during the semester, I was able to work and grow my knowledge of what the business world really looks like. The flexibility gave me an opportunity to grow more confidently in the classroom and outside of it. The experience to work with individuals who created an inspiring learning environment was also a highlight of my internship experience. Overall, the LPL internship has provided me with a foundation to further my experience in business and explore areas that I might not be able to get in a classroom.

What I wish was different

As an intern during the 2022 summer, the interconnection between peers in the internship program was challenging, but activities and sessions through University Relations allowed for more connectivity. The only thing I wish was different was my availability to get into the office and connect with not only my peers but advisors and managers that I attend meetings with daily/weekly.

Advice

During my experience as an intern at LPL, I found that being open to different departments and projects allowed me to not only broaden my knowledge of the business world but helped me to evaluate my different interests and how they translate to my job upon my graduation. Keeping an open and interactive environment while doing this internship I became a more confident student, practiced my professional development, and now I am looking forward to bringing the knowledge I learned to my future endeavors.
