Direct interaction with the community every day. We would go tabling or canvassing to hear neighborhood opinions on various projects and find possible recipients for tree plantings and volunteer events. Consistent schedule but varied tasks day by day to include some smaller projects and self-guided event planning.
What I wish was different
Commuting far everyday and carpool scheduling made things a bit difficult in getting places. Working on certain tasks depends on the season but I wish I could have worked on more urban gardening projects.
Advice
Ask questions and build connection to the communities you are helping, people will ask a lot from you and are wanting to learn about why you are there and what you are planning to do.
