Be able to come up with creative games and ideas on the spot. You never know which camp activities the kids will like or dislike, so it’s good to create a backup or modified activity.

What I liked
Due to COVID, the ratio of staff to campers was 1:8. As a result, I was able to connect one-on-one with many of the campers and build relationships. The management was helpful and the pay was also good. They provided craft supplies and resources on site, which the campers enjoyed.
What I wish was different
Due to COVID, we weren’t allowed to take the campers on field trips, but I hope that will change in future years.
Advice
Be fully engaged with the kids and have fun! This is a great opportunity to strengthen your leadership skills and encourage other people. Go for it!
