I enjoyed working with my school's occupational department because I was able to help professors and students navigate their daily schedules. This experience helped broaden my knowledge of the administrative component of a professional program. I enhanced my communication skills through the answering of phone calls, interacting with potential and current students as well as assisting professors in executing classroom activities.
What I wish was different
One thing I wish that had been different was learning more about logistics of occupational therapy. It would have been beneficial to learn more about the program, so that I can help potential candidates of the occupational therapy program.
Advice
As a nursing student, with a busy schedule this work study experience greatly benefited me since the job was in campus. I would suggest to create a schedule that allows flexibility, if possible. Such as being able to work in between classes.
