Live Nation Entertainment

Venue Sales Intern

May - August 2019 • Indianapolis, IN

What I liked

All of my supervisors and people that worked in the office were very friendly and genuinely wanted to help. Whenever I had a question about something related to the live entertainment industry, they were always happy to answer. My favorite part of the internship was helping book local Indianapolis bands to play at the venue's VIP Club. From this experience I now know how to create artist booking contracts which will be very helpful in my future career in the music industry. Another aspect of the internship was the creative freedom I was given. I created all of the graphics for the VIP club events, future show fliers, etc. I love being able to showcase my creativity so this aspect was a lot of fun.

What I wish was different

During shows I was not given as many tasks. I wish I was able to be more involved on show days.

Advice

As an intern you should always take the extra step when given a task. I always made sure to execute a task to the best of my ability. Always go above and beyond what your supervisor asks. Show that you really want to be there and learn and that you could be an asset to the company.

Digital Marketing Intern

February - March 2020 • Beverly Hills, CA

What I liked

The diverse team setting and extensive accessibility to various departments!

What I wish was different

I was fortunate enough to be part of a great team! However, in terms of the internship program as a whole, something I wish that were different was the "for credit" requirement. Paying interns for their work is something that should be implemented in the future. As well as offer some perks (ex: tickets to shows, merch, etc.).

Advice

Be willing to take on a challenge! More work can lead to greater rewards (and don't forget to have fun)!

Premium Seat Sales Intern

May - September 2017 • Holmdel Township, NJ

What I liked

I loved working in the music industry. It was cool to see the behind the scenes of what goes on before a concert. I liked having a large part in the fan experience at our venue.

What I wish was different

I wish it had been paid. I did receive credit which was great but the hours were pretty long and pay would have been great. I also wish we had more interns to help out day of show since there would a lot to do and it was hard to accomplish it all in a short amount of time.

Advice

Get your hands on any bit of experience you can. Do anything your bosses ask and go above and beyond to make their jobs easier. It'll help you stand out for sure and set you apart from other interns.
