Being able to work hands on with kids. I didn’t have much experience working with children that had developmental disabilities before hand but just having the opportunity to connect with the kids was an eye opening experience.
What I wish was different
The training could have been better especially as someone who has never worked residential before.
Advice
Go into jobs with an open mind. You may not think something is for you but just experience something once and you’ll open yourself up to things you didn’t even know you wanted.
