I really enjoyed working in a field that interests me and a field that I plan on pursuing as an occupation. I also liked how I was able to learn more about pharmacy as I worked. I also liked how I could interact with patients and clients on a daily basis. I also really liked the people I worked with.
What I wish was different
I wish I would have been able to become a technician a little sooner than I was. I didn't like being a clerk as much as actually filling prescriptions.
Advice
Getting into a field of work that deals closely to what you enjoy to do will make work a lot easier to do and days will go by a lot faster because you will overall be happier and more content with life.

Pharmacy Intern
March 2019 • Sioux Falls, SD
What I liked
I love working at Lewis SW pharmacy. The staff was friendly and inviting, and all the pharmacists were trusted mentors. They all took personal attention to me and taught me valuable skills to be successful as an intern, a pharmacist, and possibly a Lewis pharmacist. The work was very rewarding and I got to do a variety of different things. I was also given a lot of freedom in my interning and was granted responsibilities and privileges based on my performance. I really enjoyed the patients as well. Most provided positive or at least neutral interactions, and the negative interactions were opportunities to learn.

What I liked
I really enjoy the people that work there and the care they show patients every day.
What I wish was different
I wish there were more hours for pharmacy interns to get in the summer instead of just evenings and weekends
Advice
I would recommend any student get out and apply for various internships early because of how long it can take to make good relationships with people that are very useful.
