Level One Bank

Disclosure Desk Specialist

May 2021 • Farmington Hills, MI

What I liked

I like the flexibility, the emphasis on employee relationships, team-builidng, and the welcoming environment. Everyone is very friendly towards one another, there's a lot of team events, and everyone knows each other!

What I wish was different

I wish that COVID hadn't happened. I think the entire experience would've been more beneficial in a normal time.

Advice

Make connections, and that your work and input matters! I started as an intern and was promoted within a month.

Operations Intern

May 2019 • Farmington Hls, MI

What I liked

The ability to network and develop new skills in my field.

What I wish was different

I wish I asked to rotate around different departments more to get a better understanding of how the company works as a whole.

Advice

Don't be afraid to ask questions. There are no wrong questions and to network with everyone in your office. You never know what kind of connections you may make.

Project Team Intern

May - August 2019 • Farmington Hls, MI

What I liked

I liked that they actually had us do work. It was very hands-on. The workplace was like a family. I was able to talk to the CFO almost daily. They also invited the interns to play softball with the employees in a league. This was a very good experience and I highly encourage people to join.

What I wish was different

I wish there were more networking opportunities with higher-ups. There were a few planned ones but I also didn't take advantage.

Advice

Build your network. I wish I had taken advantage of meeting different managers in the different areas of the bank. I branched out a little bit but you really have to make yourself known while being an intern. I think this would really help other people if they are able to talk to people that respect interns.
