What I liked

I enjoy the work-life balance, having the ability to facilitate, and the support of my team. Everyone is friendly and willing to share their experiences. The pay and commitment to diversity and inclusion was also great!

LASR Intern

May - August 2022 • Morrisville, NC

What I liked

The experience overall is of great value for all students, no matter your major. You get to learn about the company, the products they offer and how they operate. During the internship, you get a mentor to guide you through the corporate world experience with many opportunities to interact with employees all statuses, from entry level - executive level. I enjoyed my internship because the people involved did their best to ensure I had the best possible experience and I thank them for that.

What I wish was different

There was an incident during my internship that could've been avoided, due to this incident, I felt there was a divide between certain interns. Though I was grateful for my opportunity and overall, I can look back and say I had a wonderful experience, that incident still left a negative impression on me.

Advice

This is a great opportunity to network with many corporate professionals. Do some background research on professionals you would like to connect with and have questions prepared in advance.

Services & Software Marketing Intern

June - July 2022 • Morrisville, NC

What I liked

I loved the casual atmosphere, the very kind and open people, and the ability to work at my own pace. The culture and people didn't feel "fake" - I genuinely felt like they wanted to help me and I never felt afraid to ask any questions!

What I wish was different

I'm trying very hard to answer this, but honestly, nothing is coming to mind. This was my first ever internship, it was remote yet very engaging, the team I worked with was helpful and understanding, the workload was never over or underwhelming, and I didn't ever feel out of place. While it might vary for others, for me, this was a perfect first experience!

Advice

Be very open! Show your face on camera, visit in person if you can, ask questions, make suggestions. Lenovo is not kidding when they say they want to help you and want to hear your input, amazing things can happen for you if you just ask!

Global Supply Chain Intern

June - August 2019 • Morrisville, NC

What I liked

I loved everything about my summer at Lenovo. The office and people culture is amazing and something that makes Lenovo stand out. The projects that I was tasked with were real world issues and had an impact on the Supply Chain organization. As an intern, my main task was to learn and grow as an individual; with the guidance of one of the best managers I have ever had - I was able to do so. Lenovo is definitely a place where I would consider for a full-time role. The Research Triangle Park is also an growing area with a ton of opportunities as well as things to do.

What I wish was different

Nothing!

Advice

Take advantage of every single day at the internship and write down everything you do. Make sure to allocate your time wisely because the internship flies by!

LASR intern

June - August 2019 • Raleigh, NC

What I liked

I loved the atmosphere of the work environment and the people in which I worked with were very kind, smart and helpful. I also felt like I learned something new daily and never found myself alone or lost.

What I wish was different

at first thought, I can't think of anything I would change about my experience at Lenovo.

Advice

Connections!!! employees at the job always encouraged me to meet and talk to all people in the building to help expand my "personal brand" within the company. Also, "how I do anything is how I do everything" they taught me that maximum effort never goes unnoticed and to always give 100% with anything I did in life and not just at work.
