I worked within the Volunteer Lawyers Program under the supervision of multiple attorneys and a paralegal. The people that I worked with on a day-to-day basis were absolutely incredible; they taught me a lot about the legal field in general and provided the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with clients' cases.
What I wish was different
Though we were able to go to court once, it would have been an incredible learning experience to see multiple cases presented in that environment.
Advice
I would definitely recommend an internship with the Legal Services of Eastern Missouri! Since it is located so close to SLU, it is a good option for SLU students who are thinking about pursuing law school.
