I wish the program was longer, and a little better organized so that there was less workload on each of the tutors.

Interviews are extremely important to getting jobs, especially teaching jobs.

Coordinating Intern

What I liked

Every summer, Legal Outreach has about 30 interns working with them, so there is a very organized intern training process which I liked. I also liked the level of supervision that we had. The supervisors trusted us to do our work but were also always there when we needed them. The job itself was incredibly rewarding.

What I wish was different

The training period was 4 weeks long, which I think could have been shortened. I also think it would've been helpful to allow more of this training time for lesson plan preparation.

Advice

It is going to feel overwhelming at first, but just know that you got this job for a reason! It always feels uncomfortable to be out of your comfort zone, and this job really pushed me to be the best version of myself.
