Being able to teach and learn through the position has always been something I’ve admired about it. Teaching the summer staff, teaching the campers, but also learning from them at the same time.
What I wish was different
We host a few secular camps and usually they are spread out throughout the summer, but this year they were all pretty close together and that was hard on the staff and the admin since we couldn’t really talk much about our faith.
Advice
Just have fun. Don’t worry about what little things can and will go wrong, in the end they don’t matter. What matters is that the kids are having fun and learning and a lot has to go wrong for that to not happen.
