The Latino Donor Collaborative was a great opportunity to combine two of my major interests: (1) advocacy for my community, and (2) research. As a research intern, I investigated and organized data regarding several topics such as representation in film and television and even economic and workforce development.
Working with the LDC gave me the opportunity to see a glimpse of what working in the non-profit industry is like and also allowed me the opportunity to take on different tasks and shadow projects as I was interested in.
The LDC was an internship that challenged me to grow professionally, and I appreciate all the experience I developed while I was with them!
What I wish was different
I wish I would have had the opportunity to work in person with this team. Due to COVID, our time was cut to remote rather quickly. It would have been such a great opportunity to get to network with the other interns in person, although there were opportunities for networking and co-working while virtual as well.
