Lanxess is a fantastic company to work for. There’s a lot of opportunity to gain insight into other business functions (such as HR, finance, engineering) which was valuable to me as a business major. The people there are really great to work with as well.
What I wish was different
My specific position was better geared towards more analytically-driven marketing majors (which I am not, unfortunately.)
Advice
As an intern in any firm you should be prepared to ask questions and take initiative to figure things out. Don’t just sit back and wait for projects to be assigned to you. I feel like I could have done a better job with this in my role as an intern at LANXESS. Lastly, if you aren’t sure about your performance, don’t be afraid to ask for feedback. You will never learn how to improve if you don’t ask.
