I wish the management had been nicer and more caring to the staff.

Make sure you find a schedule that works for you and request to have that certain schedule.

The landscaping program is for those who can work hard. A benefit of this is that your co-workers are hard workers, too.

What I liked
I really liked how flexible the schedule was and how willing to work with you the managers were. The people were all very nice and helpful. Training is provided.
What I wish was different
There was a lot of expectation for people over 18 to work longer hours, which could be a bit exhausting.
Advice
Warning: hard work is involved, including physical labor outdoors.

I really liked how relaxed the job was. While keeping track of money could be stressful at times, it really payed off by being super chill.
What I wish was different
They could have been a little more accepting with time off requests. It was very difficult to get time off.
Advice
Have fun with the job. Guests are playing games and it’s cool to get them to win.

I love the way they treat their employees! They use competition to help encourage the kids to sell and they reward based upon completion
What I wish was different
Maybe some of the hours, there would be times I would work 60 hour weeks without overtime pay.

What I liked
I love all the different people and cultures you come in contact with everyday. Everyday is something new. You get a lot of leadership training.
What I wish was different
I wish they would have been more firm on the attendance rule. A lot of times people wouldn’t shot you and they would just give the people a slap on the hands.

Don’t be afraid to share your ideas. They are always willing to listen.

What I liked
Lots of opportunity to try out new practices and designs. They also have a great leadership training program which I was chosen to participate in. It featured regular guest speakers from around the country who taught us leadership skills specific to our unique situation.
What I wish was different
I wish I had learned earlier on what opportunities my position entitled me to.
Advice
Any job at Lagoon is pretty unique, but the experience can be a great asset wherever you end up working.
