I enjoyed having a broad variety of tasks and projects throughout my time here. I also had lots of communication with mid-level management so I liked feeling that my job was important.

Civil Gas Intern Engineer
January 2018 • Rochester, NY
What I liked
I love learning about something that's isn't really taught in the program, but is apart of my major. I am able to work with numerous departments and really know what I want to do once I graduate.
What I wish was different
I wish I had taken advantage of more of the opportunities for interns while I was there.
Advice
You are not expected to know everything, and it was nice to walk in and know I can ask for help if I was confused. Everyone was open and willing to teach me about the projects I was helping with or to help clear up any misconceptions I may have had.

Bridge Construction Inspector Intern
May - August 2017 • Rochester, NY
What I liked
I enjoyed the overall atmosphere of the company and work, and got to apply things I learned in classes.
What I wish was different
I would like to move away from inspection in future co-ops.
Advice
Get ahead on all internships and professional connections. Get in contact with and meet employers in the years before you actually need a co-op, and when you do need one get all your applications in early.
