LCHS collects, preserves, and shares the history of La Crosse County, Wisconsin. We own and operate two museums, Historic Hixon House and the La Crosse Area Heritage Center. We also maintain the largest publicly-owned collection of local historic artifacts in La Crosse. Museum tours, plus other history-based programming such as lectures and historic re-enactments are part of our mission.
