Every single person involved in L'Arche is so kind and welcoming. It is so easy to create long lasting and lifelong relationships. L'Arche is truly family.

What I wish was different

Communication is always something that can be improved, especially in the human service industry.

Advice

Make sure you learn to take care of yourself and be vocal about how you're feeling. Always ask for and give advice to coworkers.

What I liked

I loved working at L'Arche Boston North. The community is so vibrant where Core Members and Assistants offer a deep friendship rooted in mutuality and solidarity. I experienced the most joyous days of life sharing time and was constantly reminded of what it means to work and live with purpose. One of the highlights of my summer at L'Arche Boston North was community gatherings where everyone came together to share a meal and celebrate friendships.

What I wish was different

Advice

If you choose to share time in L'Arche, the best thing you can do is go with openness. An openness to all the things the could and will happen. It can be challenging, but when you lean in those challenges are given very positive and formative meaning. L'Arche will always be my little corner of heaven on earth!
